Fonts in start menu messed up with WindowBlinds

Hi All,

I tried searching on this topic, and couldn't find anything, but...

Most of my themes that are loaded in windowblinds tend to have the fonts go BOLD or wrong in the start menu. The first level of items in start are OK, but the second are usually much larger, and a different font.


Anyone else experience this??

What are the names of some of the skins you have problems with. Start menu has no font settings, always XP default,
more programs fonts can be changed, but normally font type is changed, if size changed normally won't be bigger than
start menu. List a few a I will see if it is in the skin settings.

Load up a new skin and reboot. You probably used a skin that changed all those fonts. When you loaded the new skins the old skin font settings will be used until you reboot.

or, you have specific font settings set in your windowblind settings.

I think the problem may be that no default font was selected in
the skin...

I have had several skins do this.

An example would be devoir?

I'm getting the same problem, regardless of whether or not the skin has a font set. The root start menu no longer displays the black > at the end of each menu and in the "Programs" list the text appears further to the left and in a different style possibly. Certain charaters also appear wrong, for example a "&" will appear as a "_" like in CD & DVD Utilities (see screen shot for details). Anyone have any ideas? Also, this goes away if I switch back to the default XP theme in display properties (not in windowblinds).

I am having the same issue. In my Internet Explorer favorite's menu, the "&" is being replaced with an "_". Switching to the default XP theme returns it to normal. Also the menu arrow is not being displayed when using a non-default theme.

I'm sure that they probably do, but since this isn't an 'official' support means (it's more peer to peer than Stardock to Customer) you are better of mailing their support team at [email protected]. I have, but haven't heard back from them yet.

I am having that problem...just the past couple of days. I am using the same skin on both my computers, when I first installed them a week ago, they were both ok...the blind is Caramel Light. I have had it around quie awhile and never had any problem in the past. On my laptop, everything is as it should be, but, now, on my desktop, the font in my favorites menu when accessed from IE and windows explorer, are way big, and bold, and a different font...ugly to look at! The font is the normal font when I access my favorites from the start panel. Any ideas on why this happened?

Just a bug, I am guessing. I heard back from Stardock suppor and they said that they are working on a new build, so I'll just wait and see if that resolves the issue.

Follow up to my post above. I think I have figured out the problem, at least for me. The problems started after I upgraded to the newest windowblinds. I only upgraded on my desktop, not my laptop (just hadn't gotten around to doing it yet). My laptop is running 4.5, and my desktop is running 4.51. So, maybe there is a glitch with this release?

Would I be able to roll back to 4.5 on my desktop, or do I have to live with it until/unless they due an update? If I can roll back, how do I do that?

If the WB developers know about the bug, I am sure they will have it fixed within a couple of days. Those guys are on the ball.

No, you should be able to roll back. I just did and the fonts are back to normal.

Good news!
They fixed the bug with the fonts! I checked yesterday, and an update was released on 4-14! I applied it, and now all my fonts are back to normal! Yea!!!
