Range not restored with game

It seems that loading a game does not restore range. My ships gave the "out of range, must go in to stasis" message even though they were within my range when I saved the game.

Yeah, we've seen others with this problem too    It's topiing our list for fixes in the next beta build

When i restored a saved game the universe just shows as a black screen with no planets etc in it, the mini map showed no influence at all just all grey out.

Could this be related to the range bug aswell?

With a Colony ship exit orbit and colonize close world, that can be solved

Apparently my new colony ship is out of range as well, even though it is still in orbit

This one just happened to me, after having reloaded several previous games successfully. BTW, it happens with both the autosave and the previous autosave.

Jack, It appears to be a known problem with how range is handled. Unfortunately, unless Brad changes his mind, a fix won't be out untill late May. Brad said the next beta wouldn't be until E3 which is May 17-20. Range has been wonky to begin with but the real killer is that it goes to zero when restoring from a save.

Magus, The real killer is that this behavior is inconsistant. Sometimes I can restore a game and the ranges are OK. Occasionally, not.

- on my system it's consistent: I restore a game and ranges are never ok.
