Removing Background

When I make a .png image in PSP 8, even if there is no background, i continue to get a white background and not transparent. How do i get the icons to be just the icon and not include the background?

When you're done editing your image (without the background) go to File > Export > PNG Optimizer...

In the optimizer window, click on the Transparency tab, and make sure you select the Alpha channel transparency, and leave the bottom section default. Then give your png image a file name and location to save.

File > Preferences > File Format Preferences > PNG tab > uncheck "Load and save transparency...." > OK

That should fix it.

oh sorry...I must've misread his post, thought he was wanting to save his png without the background. Sorry if I confused things.
