Theme Manager question

Sorry for posting this here, but I didn't know where else to ask the question. As a new "convert" to WB I must say that the documentation/help for some of Stardock's products are more than lacking. Even where the Help does have some information, "Self-explanatory" doesn't cut it in some instances. I'm sure glad that this Board exists.

Now my newbie question: In Theme Manager, on the left there is the item "Visual Styles". When I click on it, all the Visual Styles I used to use with Style XP are listed. What is the purpose of this section being there? Can these Visual Styles be used with WB?

If you look more exactly you will notice that those are in fact your WindowBlinds listed there. On the top it even says "WindowBlinds Visual Styles"

Thanks, but playing around in Theme Manager I found out with SkinStudio installed, these Visual Styles, which as I said are NOT WindowBlins skins but the visual styles I installed when using StyleXP, when applied can then be used with "File/Save Desktop" to make a new theme. They may not be technically converted to .wba files, but they then can be applied using Theme Manager or from the WindowBlinds GUI.

I have SkinStudio installed, visual styles are WindowBlind skins. Skins from when you had StyleXP are MS Themes lower
down Applications list. File save desktop is making a theme from windowblind skin, which will show up in suites.
When select a MS Theme and click apply, will be converted to WindowBlind skin and applied.

Cavan1,

Yes, what you wrote is true. And I owe an apology to aufisch in that I was using the terms which are common when using StyleXP.

What WindowBlinds calls "skins", StyleXP calls "Visual Styles". What WindowBlinds calls, "Suites", StyleXP calls, "Themes". But in the Theme Manager menu/tree on the left, WindowBlinds calls "skins" "Visual Styles", which makes for some confusion. And even more confusing is that Theme Manager calls "msstyles" (Visual Styles) files "MS Themes".

However, despite the confusion in the use of terminology, I now understand what the "MS Themes" item is and how it can be used.

THANKS
