The Unauthorized Story of 'Mork & Mindy'

Last night, BEHIND THE CAMERA: THE UNAUTHORIZED STORY OF "MORK & MINDY" aired on NBC.

The story itself was interesting.  It's hard to say how factual it was, since it wasn't authorized, but Gary Marshall was involved, so it probably has some credit.

However, what *was* absolutely amazing was the actor who played Robin Williams.  He was dead on.  His name is Chris Diamantopoulos.

Watching him was like watching a young Robin Williams.  His acting was amazing, and he looked like Robin Williams, sounded like him, and even held his face like him.  I'm still not sure how he acted the part of being a spontaneous ad-libber and still kept it feeling like it was just happening.

I was quite young when "Mork and Mindy" was on.  I also was totally not aware that Robin Williams was a good friend of John Belushi and was with him the nigh that he died.

If this movie plays again, I highly recommend watching it, even if it is only to see this actor.

Thank you, I'll have to check it out. I loved that show when I was growing up.

I didn't know about Williams and Belushi either, but it does make sense. Both were very funny, had some similarities in comedic style, did a lot of the same circles, and both were really really messed up on cocaine at the time....

I would LOVE to have seen that! Hey, it looks like that actor even has Mr Williams' body hair down to an art.

I wonder if it is a male version of a merkin (merkin = female pubic wig)
