First Look

First impressions were good, though i will admit only to playing if for 30mins.

Solid so far on my first test machine (XP2200, 9700pro etc)
I will try it on the Notebook (1ghz, Vanila Radeon 16mb) and be suprised if it works.

The planet map looks good, the tile idea is a good idea, but the 2D perspective left me a little unimpressed after all the 3D glory, the idea of looking at my capital system in 3D and zooming around (ala Rome Total War, City view) would have been a bit to much to ask! Still a huge improvement than GalCiv, but i wonder how you are going to pull off auto-govern with the AI, on a huge galaxy it will require a lot of micro management if the AI is not up to speed on building the right things in the right places and not wasing space.

No problems with the interface i could explore and do what i wanted without any major hassels. Thought as with the previous poster i think the research interface could do with some work, I always thought the one of the weakest parts of GalCiv was the Research screen, I never cared enough to really research what i needed to get what i wanted. I just learned with experienced which path worked with me. (I still researched far to much duff stuff!)

"reach this goal" button, sounds fantastic!

Not much really i can add until the game machanics are fleshed out.
