Minuteman Project does the President's JOB

Tomorrow the Minutemen begin doing the job of George W. Bush along the Arizona border with Mexico. President Bush recently sided with Vicente Fox, President of Mexico in calling these brave Americans vigilantes. What a sad comment from the President of the United States who fails to meet his most basic responsibility to defend his country. Year after year millions of illegal aliens come to this country draining our resources, taking our jobs and allowing terrorists to enter our country to kill Americans. President Bush has acknowledge we need 10,000 more border patrol officers and then requests money to hire only 210 of those 10,000. What a sad Commentary to our past presidents and to the members of our military who have died to defend this country. We need more groups like the Minutemen to shame George W. Bush into meeting his most basic responsibility as the President of United States.

"We are a country of laws and the people who were coming across the borders in violation of the law need to be stopped."

Whose laws? I had no hand in devising laws that violate human rights, human dignity. The inhumane laws that you seem to support- even tout- amount to a system of quasi-slavery; the only way a 'capitalist' economy can run is by exploiting (stealing) the worker's labor value, so as to generate profit to feed the Captialist machine. Wake up and disconnect yourself from the Capitalist matrix that enslaves humanity's soul. The truth is Col. that on this one both you and Bush are partners in crime. Sad.

Why is Bush not protecting our borders? Please give me an answer that makes sense.

Applying COL Gene logic:

Pres. Bush is the "boss" for the departments that are employed to do this job, therefore Pres. Bush is responsible (directly) for this problem.

Applying the logic further:

Taxpayers are responsible for Pres. Bush, COL Gene is a tax payer, therefore COL Gene is responsible for this problem.

Therefore COL Gene, why are you not fixing this problem??!!?

Why are you not fixing all of these problems you constantly bitch about, they are all your fault, you are a tax payer, and you employ the people doing these jobs.

I hold COL Gene directly responsible for everything. I encourage everyone else to do the same.

New slogan: Blame Gene.

I did my part by not voting to keep Bush in Office. Thus I did my part plus I publish Blogs and a book that points out how the Bush policies are not solving our problems. Better try some new logic!

PHOENIX - Volunteers for an effort to patrol the Mexican border reported their first sighting of suspected illegal immigrants, resulting in 18 arrests, authorities said Sunday.

Participants in the Minuteman Project spotted the migrants Saturday near Naco as the volunteers were surveying the border to familiarize themselves with area. When agents arrived, they apprehended 18 people, Border Patrol spokesman Andy Adame said.

“You observe them, report them and get out of the way,” said Mike McGarry, a spokesman for the project, which begins Monday and is to continue for a month.

The volunteers reported another illegal immigrant after he wandered onto the campus of a Bible college near the community of Palominas, where about 100 Minuteman participants were staying.

The man walked in and said he needed food and water. Volunteers helped him and notified federal agents, who picked him up, McGarry said.

Moment by moment, the powers that be hoodwink the masses. Wake-up! Wipe the sand man out of your sealed eyes. Why do you object to people- human beings- crossing a "border"? (From Heaven does your God see borders? does he recognize borders?) They cross to improve the quality of their life. What's wrong with that? Why should barriers be erected when the Republican Bible teaches brotherhood?

Or is it that whereas most people spell the word "Justice" as one word, you spell same in two words? That is, "JUST US" good ole' boys down here below the Mason-Dixon Line. BTW, wasn't that part of the country stolen from Mexico in the first place? I believe what is happening now is a form of Montezuma's revenge. I say open the gates. The more illegal the merrier democrats, and them more miserable republicans will be. Sounds exquisite.

---You are so F$#^ing ignorant of what illegal immigrants have done to america, for example, my town, Klamath Falls Oregon....[yes they come that far up] as of 2000, the emloyment of illegals has risen 15%, to 35% of the workforce, why, because of them being cheaper, so legal, law abiding citizens have lost their jobs to "innocent", "poor" mexicans.......booh %$^ing Hoo! What about your fellow americans [legal americans, not IA's] [

quote]America has made Mexico into one big ghetto

--Show me some proof, or i am going to consider this BS....

No matter who wins in 2008, they will have to deal with the financial mess created by George W. Bush!

---BS, there were financial messes before bush came into office....

---Call me racist, call me whatever, but when i see some one so damn ignorant saying that we should let unauthorized immigrants into the US....and have them end up with others jobs because it cheaper....ARGH!......*shakes his head* "Goozfraba"
*trys to relax* [from anger management]

The most basic responsibility of the President is to insure the safety of the U S . Without that we have NOTHING. It is not possible to insure the safety of the U S without controllong who comes into our country. The border guards fall under Homeland Defense which reports directly to the President. Thus terphan 1980, you are WRONG AGAIN! It is the direct responsibility of Bush .Over 80% of Americans want Bush to safeguard our borders in poll after poll. You should look at Lou Dobbs each night to get some idea how important this issue is with Americans!

Oh now I see. You watch cnn, no wonder.

Border Patrol Complains About Volunteers

Mon Apr 4, 8:41 PM ET

By ARTHUR H. ROTSTEIN, Associated Press Writer

TOMBSTONE, Ariz. - Volunteers who have converged on the Mexican border to watch for illegal immigrants are disrupting U.S. Border Patrol operations by unwittingly tripping sensors that alert agents to possible intruders, agency officials complained Monday.
Scores of participants in the Minuteman Project began assembling late last week and clusters of volunteers began regular patrols Monday, in an exercise some law enforcement authorities and civil rights groups fear will result in vigilante violence. Many of the volunteers were recruited over the Internet, and some planned to be armed.
Over the past few days, they have set off sensors, forcing agents to respond to false alarms, said Supervisory Border Patrol Agent Jose Maheda.
"Now we not only have to look out for aliens and drug smugglers, now we have to look out for these untrained civilians who are unfamiliar with the landscape," Border Patrol spokesman Andy Adame said.
Adame said apprehension numbers have gone down since the volunteers arrived, an indication fewer people might be trying to cross. But he also noted the Mexican military and police have apparently been conducting an operation south of the border town of Naco, which tends to drive down crossings.
"No one's crossing and that was the goal, to show the government that if we have people out here no one's going to cross," said Chris Simcox, Minuteman field operations director.
The volunteers had a limited presence across 23 miles of the San Pedro Valley during the weekend. They spent Monday expanding their line southeast of Naco to watch the border and report any illegal activity to federal agents.

So we have a mixed-bag of results at best. The volunteers may be causing a lot of false alarms, and because of the publicity of them being in the area and stepped up responses (perhaps in response to that publicity) on the parts of the Mexican authorities, we can't really tell if they are helping or hurting.

Which circles back around to, for the most part, letting the people that are paid to do the job do the job.

Do we need more border agents? Yes. Can we ever completely secure our borders, no!

And finally, is this all Pres. Bush's fault? Hell no.
