HELP: SDC won't run

I just allowed SDC to do an Update...

I can no longer run SD Central after its last update. I am now getting an Entry Point error and it then exits back to Desktop. Here is a screenie of the error message -

What is the best way to recover from this?

Is 3/15/05   9:02         454,656  wcfiles.dll the file in the SDCentral directory? Or is it 3/01/05   6:12         454,656  wcfiles.dll (same size, different date, different contents).

Sounds like the wcfiles.dll file didn't get updated properly. Have you tried rebooting, in case it needed that?

Nakor, its neither - 16/03/2005 02:46am 454,656 bytes Version 2.0.0.1

I'll try a reboot just incase thats whats required.

I've got the same problem - and rebooting doesn't help. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Yip, Reboot dosn't help, and now I also have a qttask error dialogue that comes up for every drive I have; which was not occurring before this last SDC update.

Well I'm afraid SmartException did not create a CRA file when I next SDC.

Please check SDC > Help > About and make sure you have successfully updated sdc itself to build 84. It sounds like wcfiles.dll has been updated but your sdcentral.exe hasnt.

Also, make sure you are launching SDC from the correct shortcut on your startmenu and not launching sdcentral.exe directly.

Well, since SDC won't run, I'm afraid that is an impossibility The error message posted above appears before SDC can launch. Hence, I can't get to SDC Help.

Also, make sure you are launching SDC from the correct shortcut on your startmenu and not launching sdcentral.exe directly.

Sorry, but that didn't work either.

BTW, I have XP Home Edition, if that helps.

Would it be possible to get a link to redownload SDC to try starting over again?

Well, I just reinstalled the original, ran it, it then asked to be updated, and everything works fine now. Just use the link in the original email you got or use the original exe installation file you had to d/l.
