Save and load ship designs for each race

Playing the beta I found that i'm make a couple of ships from scratch every game. ie long rang cheap colony & transport ship at the start of every game.

Would be nice we could save and load ship designs

not essential but would be nice.

Bang, your dead,

I sugested it in some thread about the designscreen, but I cant seem to find it right now. So it's good to se a thread sugesting this.

What I would like is to have the ability to load any ship that have been saved in another game, but not being able to build the ones that require techs that have not been discovered yet. The non-buildable ships would then be downgradable to something buildable.

I object to the "not essential" part of your statement. Remaking redesigning my ships every game does not sound like fun to me.

And there was a whole thread in the dev journals discussing how many accessories should be allowed on ship designs submited to the new Library, to allow lower end systems to load them, so I don't think there's much chance of this not getting in.

We are planning on having that feature, but we didn't have a chance to implement it for the first beta.
