WC Browser?

WC Browser?

Just wondering if the WC Browser program has been discontinued? Last time it worked was around 3/17 and now when I try to access a library from within, it gives an error downloading. Did a check for updates and get nada. Uninstalled and reinstalled from within SDC, same.

Timeouts frequently. Bugs in attempting various things. General network errors.

These issues are being looked into. We're not sure why people are getting the general network error yet, but we are looking deeply in to this matter. As of right now, one of our many focal points in stability. We're working toward longer server up times, and we're getting there now.

Thanks for the posts, everyone! Please continue to keep us up to date.

Good news to report here, my WC browser seems to be working fine now, no errors and libraries are downloading ok. A vast improvement in page load and download speeds as well
Thanks to all who worked so hard to resume normal operations

Hmm, there must be a problem on my end. I reinstalled the browser and it seems to crash on me, doesn't update the forum area, everything is over 100 days old. Any suggestions?

BTW, I have a 64bit Processor if that may be a problem too.

Regarding old forums = I asked support that once - all discussion were 89-106 days since last reply. This is what I got back (and it worked):

You can delete the discussions.ini file in the \Program Files\Stardock\WinCustomize\SkinBrowser\data folder

Much better.

Now does it work for the rest? I'll make a backup of the files and try it.

I been wondering that. Post the answer please.

Eww, but it won't update the .ini files afterwards. It just seems to keep counting from where it recreated the new files.

I didn't even see your post until I made a post.

Yes, it does create brand new ini files after removing all the 2004 ones. Or the oldest batch, depending on the date of them.

Outta here for now.
