Widget problem

Does anybody know why when I go to load my see through clock widget none of the clock hands show? When I import the widget it's alright. Same thing with a weather object that has a digital clock on it. The clock doesn't show unless I import it. Any suggestions?

Is it to do with a parent object's transparency/visibility that this object is inheriting?

Also have no hands on my clock and the digital one I just downloaded doesn't seem to work (tyme). They worked before DX 3. Unfortunately, I dont have an old version to revert to. I tried clearing the cache, restarting and still now luck. Any ideas, or a pointer to where I could dl an earlier version (prior to 3)? Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Thanks B
