Clear Type

Problems enabling Clear Type

Like many of us I have just recently purchased an LCD monitor. I have tried to enable Clear Type in the Performance section of Window Blinds but it doesn't appear to do anything (and yes, I did click on apply changes). Now I've heard you need to enable Clear Type in Windows(XP Pro SP2) first before WindowBlinds can utilize it. However, the Effects options (where one would normally enable Clear Type) is some how disabled by WindowBlinds. Even after uninstalling WindowBlinds the Effects option is still neutered. Is there another way to enable Clear Type?

And does anyone know why that even after uninstalling WindowBoinds there remains a WindowBlinds button in my Display Properties and my my Effects option doesn't work?

Have you checked if the WindowBlinds files are removed? I wonder if the uninstallation went wrong.

However, until you find a remedy and want to enable ClearType you might be able to do it from this Microsoft page: http://www.microsoft.com/typography/cleartype/tuner/1.htm
