Problems with widget/object show/hide

Is it at all possible to have only certain objects show/hide with F9/F10? I want hide the majority of the objects (all widgets, imported to DX builder) but there is one particular one I want to always be visible (but not always on top). If I set that widget to not react to F9/F10, then import it, nothing reacts to those keys. Surely there must be some way to have certain objects not hide that I am missing, right? Thanks.

Figured it out. Just set the parent object to 'desktop' level on the Z order and that took care of it. Other objects hide, that one stays visible.
