widgets- text input problem

There are widgets that accept text input e.g. 'google search', 'dictionary search' or the new 'gmail
checker'.
These widgets used to function just fine. Now, I cannot type anything in them, they no longewr accept
any text input. Also, the cursor does not change as it should, but it remains a regular pointer (an arrow).
Any suggestions?

I experienced this with the new Silica Stock Ticker yesterday...closing and re-opening the widget cleared it.

I'm afraid that closing and re-opening doesn't help here. I get this 'no text input' behavior constantly for the last few days.

The same thing happens with listboxes. It seems theres a problem with activex controls.

DesktopX 3 seems to be very buggy application yet - Text input problem with silika widgets, when shutting windows down without unloading first desktopx crashes and the next start windows blinds is damaged. and so on - would it not be better in such cases to wait a month a release a buggy less application?

I had this problem with previous desktopX versions but it used to resolve spontaneously - I never found out what was going on. This time though it doesn't want to oblige as it used to

There was an instruction on SDC to unload the previous DX before installing DX3. Did you do this? Maybe the ActiveX control didn't install/update properly.

DX was indeed unloaded at the time of the installation of the new version.

Uninstalled - reinstalled... no problem now. Seems something went wrong during installation.
Don't know if it's relevant: When I right-click on an object > properties > general, there is no 'dxscript' under additional abilities > Add > plugin browser. Should there be such an entry?

Great! Problem's solved, I got started with scripting and I have even created my first script! Don't expect to see me uploading anything soon though
