Tiles and Quality

So do big planets really matter anymore? say 5 crappy planets have the same amount of usable tiles as 2 good ones. So do 5 crappy planets == 2 good? Only real benifit I see is that it takes less colony ships for the 2 good

Bigger planets have the potential to have more tiles.

Ultimately, it's about the planet class. And larger planets are more likely to be a higher planet class.

Im confused about the tile system, maybe i just need to look around the site and read more on it.

ughts of course in order to avoid too much micriomanagement should only a few of those small planets be that way.

ill be able to target production centres to cripple the enemies ability to wage war (gotta love that Sun Tzu), and we will have to consider more carefully which worlds we focus our defences on if the tide of war turns against us.

we will actually have different planet sizes with different number of total tiles (eg 10x12, 8x10, 6x8, 4x6)?

If so this would be truely awesome!

hen it will be a small overage for more but smaller worlds to be equal or better then big tile count worlds.

different planet may actaully be different sizes. This would equate to different sizes on the galatic map and also to different numbers of tiles,

actic map should have nothing to do with planet quality.

ets will be present to stop the map becoming over cluttered with gas giants. Remember that with CG2 each planet takes up it's own square.

bove. But it really depends on us to make it playable and fun at the same time.

hat isn't to say that Mars doesn't have its own pluses, but based on GC tech, Jupiter would be more useful to a space faring society then Mars.

implement any technology upgrades on your planets - it was abstracted, which was fine for me.

Speaking for myself, I would much rather micromanage my starfleet than my colonies. That's just my two cents.

I'm hoping we can change some tiles with Terraform technology form nonuseful to useful.

at is a tile building/cost issue. And we haven't gotten our orbital tileage slots at this time.

d the number of tiles is the amount of use you get from the planet.

I like it.

PS. Saturn has water?

Is there any hope for having the tiled planetary system be an option that can be turned off?

re shall be an option like that because that would require a complete rebalancing of all buildings there effects just for that single option.
