There should be something between fully colonizing a planet and leaving it alone

With the way galciv worked was it unprofitable to colonize planets like mars because the game build an entire and full functioning civilization on it. But In reality don't I think that that is the thing humans shall do on mars. But mars might be filled with resources so I can definitly see a small mining colony being very profitable.

Small planets on average have more heavy materials on there surface(like Iron and gold) then bigger planets. But small planets don't have enough gravity for a big athmosphere so they shall quite always be below planet class 15. So while small planets are not well suited for extensive colonization are they ideal for a small mining colony. It would be cool if this was possible in galciv2.

on low PQ planets or moons and treat them as starbases.

thing similar is in the works for asteroids, so I'd let it work like that - whatever you do to harvest asteroids you could do on mineral- or artifact-rich planets, at a somewhat larger scale.

w extra credits, the only involvement from you was sending out the initial colonizer/constructor, and assigning that world/base to a governor.

An outpost on a planet could be like a starbase with unlimited space. I assume starbases are limited by logistics, so we wouldn't see every planet worth putting a starbase on.

sons to make mining/factory colonies who produce ships like crazy but don't do anything else

to make a handicaped sign for a flag (you know, a stick man on a wheel chair). I'm pretty sure we even had some chats over IRC.

I remember you, Rah. I suppose it isn't surprising so many of the MoO3 interested are here.
