Dawn of War

Any Dawn of War fans here? I'm LOVING it... the best WH40K videogame to date, IMO. Can't wait for the expansion, but I wish it were Tyranids or maybe a distinct Chaos army... IG had to be done though I suppose.

Anyone know of some good mods? I've checked out a few, but not many... DaemonHunters seems neat. Someone is working on a Tyranid race, but I think that had a long ways to go last I checked...

Haven't really been able to find much time to play it. Hopefully the IG expansion pack will do well. They could really crank them out.

I get the feeling that THQ is forcing these titles out way too quickly. The first one obviously suffered in the SP campaign and story (the devs even admitted this). It seems the expansion is being rushed too since it's *only* adding IG, for which a fair bit of artwork already existed.

I enjoyed the game a lot... it definitely is the best WH40k game so far, I just hope they get the chance to really develop a stellar expansion or sequel to it. That they're given the time to devote to making it great.

The IG in the game now, and the full IG army are two entirely different things. They've said they're throwing out the old IG art, so I'm not sweating that the full IG army will be anything short of complete. Really, all they had was an infantry model and a tank... I'm quite certain the expansion army will be a hell of a lot more than that.

I'm curious as to the exact context in which the devs said the first one suffered in SP/story...

Well, the only issue I had with Dawn of War in SP was that the campaign was too short. Each race should have had its own campaign, not just the Space Marines. They all could have revolved around the same storyline, just from different sides/perspectives, and it would have been cool. Still, it's better that they did the overall game very well than a bunch of stuff only fairly.
