The War On Terror is Like an Episode of Scooby-Doo

Jinkies!

American foreign policy is like the Mystery Machine.

Conservatives get to drive, because like Fred, Daphne, and Wilma, they're the ones who have it together enough to operate a motor vehicle.

Liberals, like Shaggy and the Scoob, tag along, dreaming their sweet dreams of a better world they will never attain, and meanwhile constantly complaining about not enough food, too much scary, etc. Also like Shaggy and Scoob, the liberals run and hide, clinging to each other in fear, every time some sheet-draped asshat pops out and says "boo!"

Kim Jong Il has nuclear weapons? Quick! Run away and hide! Ignore the problem! Pretend it doesn't exist! If all else fails, try to appease the evil spirits!

Fred, Daphne, and Wilma, those uptight squares, are meanwhile working diligently to get to the bottom of the mystery and save the town/hotel/boathouse/whatever from the evils that beset it.

And Saddam Hussein is the old bastard saying "I would've gotten away with it, too, if it weren't for those stupid kids!"

Gotta finish my workday, first, Ted. After that, I'm all about the Scooby Snacks. Awww yeah.

I agree with Ted!  It was very clever to link Scooby Doo with the war on terror, and then you backed it up very well!

(My One Beef?  I always saw myself as Shaggy - Never Fred! And I am not Liberal, as you probably know.)

have another Scooby snack on me as well!

Hilarious, George Bush should be the old man saying, "I would have gotten away with it", except he is getting away with it while Fred and Daphne are off boning, and Thelma is nowhere to be found.

Dr Guy, you're not liberal? You openly admit to being limited to or by established, traditional, orthodox, or authoritarian attitudes, views, or dogmas; not free from bigotry, opposing proposals for reform, closed to new ideas for progress, and intolerant of the ideas and behavior of others, narrow-minded? Well, given what I've seen some right wing Americans say in the past, I can believe it, but it's extremely brave of you to come out and admit it like that. Maybe you should go and see what "liberal" means in a dictionary.

I said that in the vein of the chicken theives that now run the liberals claim to be.  Your perjorative description is out of date and test book.  And patently wrong.

I dont need a dictionary.  I wrote it.  But then you have yet to read it, so I wont worry about you quoting from it, except to google it.

Look, Crowley, trolling is one thing. But go get your own classic cartoon metaphors, instead of trying to rip off mine. Stop wasting our time, and tell us how the U.N. is like Baby Huey or something.

The UN is like Baby Huey. Happy? Who's Baby Huey by the way?

On the American liberals being spineless, certainly none of the liberals that I know are spineless, so maybe it's more to do with being American than being liberal? Still, if not being spineless makes you like Ann Coulter, I'd rather be spineless. I wouldn't be incredibly surprised to find out that hate filled bitch is actually on the Democrats' payroll

Say what you want, but Shaggy and Scooby are usually the ones who (inadvertently) catch the criminal after Fred's plan goes awry.

Man, Crowley is just all about proving me right when I called him humorless. "Zoinks!"
What a gasbag.
Anyway...as a Scooby fan of old, and as one of the ones driving the Mystery Machine, I had to laugh at your VERY apt analogy. Well put....have a WHOLE BOX of Scooby snacks on me.

But I still get to be Fred.

hate filled bitch is actually

Another priceless quote from a compassionate liberal.

Okay, Rightwinger. You can be Fred. I was always partial to Wilma, myself.

NJ, the way I remember it, Shaggy and Scoob were never the ones who pulled the mask off the monster.

No, they didn't, but Fred, Daphne, and Velma were almost never the ones that caught him. It was almost always them walking up to where Scooby and Shaggy were disoriented, and the criminal was caught. (Off-topic, considering this is purely the show, but just pointing it out).

Welll.....maybe, but it was always them who explained the details of the mystery, how and why the heist or other crime was carried off and then exposed the "monster" as just another "sheet-draped asshat" (I loved that line.).

Baby Huey was a big dumb chicken (duck? It's been a while) who walked around wearing a bonnet, a diaper and carrying a bottle. He kept on stumbling into fuck-ups and troubles and everyone was terribly annoyed by him because of it.

Sounds like the UN, alright.

Duck is correct.

I saw a line about Anne Coulter up above. Why is it that libs always want to dismiss conservative intellectuals who speak their minds as hateful bigots?
Such a narrow-minded view for those who claim to be so broadminded and enlightened, don't you agree, Crowley?

The same reasons cons want to dismiss Michael Moore

Duck. Yes, the UN sure does love to duck whenever a real problem confronts them!

I just hated Scrappy, what an annoying little tosser he was. Puppy Power my eye. Let's see now, Scrappy was small, annoying, always trying to fight when he plainly couldn't and generally ended up in more trouble. Reminds me of someone

I agree...Scrappy was a dumbass little pisser. Too bad the ghosts never got him.
That was when the cartoons all started getting into that interminably long "cutesy" phase of the mid-70s-90s, where every major character just had to have an annoyingly cute little sidekick somewhere.
It finally ended in the early-to-mid 90s, when WB Network came out with their darker Batman and Superman cartoons, and showed that cutesy was getting to be passe. I know cartoons.+LOL+

I guess maybe Scrappy-Do does better represent the UN than Baby Huey, though; it's a close call.+LOL+
