problem reverting to default xp

Hi all,

All of a sudden now I cannot revert back to the default Windows XP look. I can revert back to classic, but when I revert back to default it gives me a classic style, but a little different. I think either some resource files have been moved or my WindowBlinds is overriding the style change. It has never done this before, though. It just started after I applied a new Visual Style. It is doing this to all the accounts on the computer, and it is fairly new. Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

What version of WB are you using?

Ryan126,

I use the full version, so I may be of limited assistance.

Can I assume that you are unloading WB first, receiving a sort of "beige" color classic style after unload, then going to "Display Properties>Themes tab" > selecting the Windows XP option from the drop down theme list, then clicking "Apply" to return to default XP theme?

If so and this is occurring after applying various WindowBlinds, then I would suggest saving your skin folders, found in the "C:\Program Files\Stardock\WindowBlinds" folder (where "C" is the letter drive)- to a temporary folder in say "My Document".

Unload all programs.

Then uninstall, reboot machine, go back to the "Program Files" directory referred to in previous paragraph and delete the WindowBlinds folder if it still exists, then reinstall WindowBlinds.

Load WB, apply one of the prepackaged skins, unload WB, and use Display Properties>Themes tab to return to default Windows XP. If all goes well, then the reinstall was successful and you might want to be cautious with the skin you applied just before everything went sideways.

I apologize for all the words, I just don't know how comfortable or advanced you are with computers and wanted to be clear.

I hope this helps in some way.
