Cannot Get Suites to Load, help

For whatever reason, when i open up my Theme manager & attempt to apply a Suite it does not load. I mean nothing happens. The icons don't change, the desptop, menus, cursors, etc. don't change, etc. What would be causing this? Do i have to have another program loaded? Skins seem to load fine, but Suites do not. Help would be appreciated.

Are you using the free version of theme manager?..if so...::sighs:: it doesnt work, the free version is an outdated one and as a result the URL's are incorrect for DLing the suite elements.

You'll either have to upgrade to the pro version or wait it out until they update the free version.

Zero.

jsabarese,

There should be a shortcut in your Start > All Programs menu.

It will be in either the "Object Desktop" or "Stardock" folder.

Just click the icon and the interface is fairly intuitive - left side has categories, center shows lists for selected categories, right side has previews if available, lower center to right has action buttons.

I am still having problems, and cannot figure it out. When trying to apply a Suite i get a window that pops up asking if i want to apply the Suite file? with the buttons yes, no & advanced. When i click the advanced tab/button it shows the items that either are not downloaded or that are not installed. And always it says that WindowBlinds is not installed, when it is (and its not the free version) I think this is why Suites are not installing, but cannot figure out how to get ThemeManager to recognize that WindowBlinds is in fact installed. This is becoming ever so frusterating.

bigfatty,

There have been a lot of posts recently concerning Theme Manager. If you are running the free version my information may be little or no help as I am running the Object Desktop version 2.19.

In case I may be of assistance, I would recommend going to "C:\Program Files\Stardock" folder (or "C:\Program Files\Stardock\Object Desktop" folder if you have the full program suite) and look inside the "Theme Manager" folder.

You should see a number of Theme Manager icons (blue/green computer screen, paintbrush, and painters pallet) which indicate the ".suite" files. Try right-clicking one of them and selecting "Apply Theme" from the list to see if direct selection works.

PixOffice is a nice suite that comes with the Theme Manager version I have, so try that one if it is there. You do not need to be connected to the internet to apply the packaged suites, the application process (first time) writes the files to their proper locations (i.e., WindowBlinds part to the WindowBlinds folder, IconPackage to the Icon Packager folder, etc.).

If this fails, I would suggest uninstalling, rebooting, and reinstalling the program. I would also suggest that you delete the "Theme Manager" folder in the Program Files address listed above before reinstalling.

With the issues that seem to be associated with the free version, I have no other suggestions but to contact Stardock Support for a better answer if these procedures both fail.

I am assuming you have more than just WindowBlinds installed.

Good luck.
