Well Take Away My "Muslim Hater" Card If You Wish But...

This doesn't seem to ring quite true to me...

Something about this narrative regarding the "Muslim Indoctrination" supposedly going in in Scottsdale Arizona rings fals to me... Google doesn't seem to have much on it either. Anyone have any links or anything to debunk (or "bunk" I suppose) this claim?

Possibly I suppose but there is absolutely nothing untoward that I found in that doument. I certinly wouldn't object to the curriculum described in that PDF being taught in a class offered at my daughters school.

From the post on Little Green Footballs: "The children had to write a full biography on the life of Muhammad, using the information from the textbook - an extremely indoctrinating exercise."

What would be indoctrinating about writing a biography of Muhammed? He ws an extremely important religous leader. (As was Moses and Jesus and Martin Luther.) Unless, of course, the textbook presented a false and misleading point of view. But even then, a parent might use this as an opportunity to show the value of independent research.

I teach Sunday school at a Jewish Secular Humanist school. My seventh grade class (the last regular class before the kids make B'Nai Mitzvot) study all the major religions, including Islam and Christianity. As part of our curriculum, we visit other denominations. Why? Simply because I cannot be a fair advocate for things that I don't believe in. But I do believe that knowledge is good. Kids deserve the chance to make informed decisions.

I do think that the original poster on LGF would disagree with that.

Thank you, Greywar, for posting this.
