recover deleted Dock

Just curious if someone can tell me where I can locate a dock I created and deleted by accident. It is not in the recycle bin and I am not sure if it is recoverable. The dock I created was modified from the orginal default and included basically all of my desktop/other links.

Thanks

ItchyScratchy,

You may be able to do the following:

Go to C:\Documents and Settings\"user name"\Local Settings\Application Data\Stardock\ObjectDock" (where "C" is the letter drive, and "user name" is the name on the account when you are logged in) > Right-click the "CurrentTheme.ini" file > select "Open with..", or "select program" - depending on your menu > browse to the "ObjectDock.exe" file (usually at "C:\Program Files\Stardock\ObjectDock", again where "C" is the letter drive), and select it, then click "Open" > click "OK" to close dialog.

If you can't see the "Local Settings" folder listed above - go to "Tools>Folder Options>Veiw tab" and select "Show hidden files and folders", then click "Apply" - you will now be able to see the folder and navigate.

If you have not changed your theme since deleting it and all the images are still located in the same place, you should see your dock appear. Just use the ObjectDock configuration panel to save your theme again and you are set.

I hope this helps and good luck.

No dice, Stardock is not showing up in my user, local settings, application data folder (yes only one drive "C" and one user, and I am viewing hidden folders, can't figure why its not showing). Tried a search in all folders (including sub and hidden) and only Currenttheme.ini that shows is the one in the Stardock program files, but I assume that is the other dock I have running (there was 2 dock orginally).

Thanks for the reply, any other suggestions?

I'm Out.

I think there are some recovery utilities available for free, but I have never used one and am not sure where to point you.

There was a thread in one of the posts about data recovery , but I can't remember the title.

Sorry I could not be of more help.

Unless you saved it as a theme (Object Dock Properties Page - Save Theme As) your out of luck.

Thanks for the suggestions, back to the drawing board *reminds self that next time I see that "are you sure you want to delete..." I will look it it more closely*.
