GalCiv II user interface. Could an Object Dock Plus approach be taken

I have recently fallen in love with Stardock's Object Dock Plus.

Now, I know that the UI for GalCiv II is more or less set in stone already, but I would still like to ask this:

Why not make the UI customizable ala ODP? Would it be hard to do? Stardock already owns the technology, so I guess what I'm asking is: What would it require for that technology to be utilized in a game?

In many games, I find myself only using some of the controls frequently, some less frequently, and some not at all. It would be cool to be able to customize the UI, and it seems to me that ODP offers just that possibility.

I suggest you read the GUI journals in the forum... they do use it and you can customize it

yea, frogboy said in a preview that users can skin the interface... should be interesting.

Oh...my bad if that is the case. I thought that the UI was "only" skinnable. Byt if you can actually move the controls around, and group them after what you use the most, then I rest my case.

I think they said it was totally modable, not just "skinable".
