Deterministic Outcomes and Random Number Seeds

I'm curious how deterministically the game will play out given a specific gamestate, etc. Specifically, will random number seeds be stored so that people can't reload saved games to obtain better outcomes?

Keeping it random is the way to go. So I pretty much agree with Solitair on this one.

a "max hitpoints" checkbox in the second game. In other words, why taunt the player with possibilities instead of just providing an explicit choice?

fied by calling something "indeterminate". Horse feathers. We just can't figure it out.

Another good idea Itsatrap. I think I Reloaded a few times during MOO2 because of some bad event(s). I don't do it any more, or atleast I don't try to. Having a checkbox to let the player choose would be a good idea.

k to "non-Ironman" mode inside the game, of course without any possibility of going back again. But that's my only complaint about SMAC's Ironman mode.)

ble to go back and revisit to the saved position later. It's the same thing, really.

eels, at least for me, more satisfying than reloading and trying a different route.

But as I said, your perspective is as valid as mine, it's just different.

ime being dead.

Anyway, we haven't started work on the events yet, so maybe we'll revisit this issue then.

llies and etc. Or I make two saves before a big fight. One save I beat it and continue and the other is there if I want to "relive" that epic battle once more.

f a bajillion back and forths is the elimination of all secrets -- it seems like a close approximation could be achieved by letting both sides know everything there is to know at all times.

We could have if you reload on bad events you get a worse event but affecting different area :/

ed the "bad" event you got would instead determine what morality event you get on the planet. So it's a moot point anyway
