shortcuts with icons in system tray take two clicks - help

i have a group of shortcuts--winamp, aim, firefox, direct connect, and a folder.

i set it so if i click on any of them, it will open the current instance instead of a new instance of the application.

unfortunately, since winamp and AIM minimize to the system tray, i have to click on them twice to bring them to the front, as opposed to clicking once on the rest of them. i can minimize winamp and aim to the taskbar, but i am looking to save space--one icon for winamp and aim, regardless of whether they are already open or not.

how can i either a) make it so a certain window class like winamp or aim is hidden from my taskbar or b) make it so it only takes one click on a shortcut to open up the current instance of a program running in the system tray.
