CorelDRAW export transparency

HI all! I am new to windows graphic software previously only using linux graphic apps. I purchased Illustrator CS 11 which came with CorelDRAW 11. I'm more comfortable in coreldraw as it is more like inkscape in linux. I've been loving mormegil's CorelDRAW for Skinner's but am at my witts end on exporting with transparency. I've been through every option 20 times and googled, then it occured to me...is it possible that the version of CorelDRAW 11 that comes with Illustrator CS 11 does not support exporting a trans background? Anyone know? The transparent and Masked Area options when exporting are grayed out (insentitive). Any thoughts are appriciated as this is driving me nuts!

Thank you!

Not sure if you have seen this one yet, but Mormegil did a video on exporting and I believe he uses CD11.

See video link here:Link

thx!
yeah, that was the first one I went to when I couldn't get it to work. As mormegil says, be sure to have transparency set, but it is grayed out.

BTW: thx for the tutorials mormegil! hope I can continue to view them and benefit from them

In case anyone is curious, here's some icons I made in inkscape and the gimp in linux. The skin was made in inkscape as well. In inkscape, it takes 30 minutes to do what can be done in 5 minute in a good windows app not to mention the features limitations. So, here I am

I thought I mentioned it in the Video, but for Corel 11, there is a bug in the PNG exporter. You need to go to www.corel.com and download CorelDRAW 11 SP1, and while your at it get CD SP2. That should fix the problem.

Also, if you need to you can get transparnacy by exporting as PSD insted, even without the patch. But get the patch its a must.

Hi, yeah...you mentioned bugs and memory leaks but not a patch (I don't think). Duh....me feels stupid . Seems like such a basic feature I didn't think of a patch. Will do, when I get home. Thank you!
