ObjectDocks extension?

Here's my question - my Firefox is downloading the ObjectDocks downloads as a .zip. According to a post I found, I have to change the extension so it will automatically install. But I can't find what extension to change it to. Any help?

Are you sure you mean Object Dock? Everything I have ever downloaded for Object Dock comes in a zip file. You then need to unzip it to the correct location (the Themes folder if it is a theme, the Backgrounds folder if it is a background, anywhere in the OD directory for images, and the Docklets folder for docklets).

What exaclty are you trying to download and install? That would really clear things up.

I suppose my question should be, how do I install ObjectDocks that I download? I just see a bunch of icons and pngs - no sort of setup or anything like that. Do I just place all of the pngs and icons inside the themes folder or do they go into their own folder inside themes or someplace else?

Again, you need to specify what it is you are downloading. Are you downloading icons, backgrounds, docklets, or themes? From your wording it sounds like backgrounds, but I can't be sure. In the zip file is there a file called "background.ini"? If so, the you need to extract everything into that zip file into the Backgrounds folder in the Object Dock folder. It works best if they are in their own folder in there too (but most backgrounds will have that all ready in the path). Then you apply that background by opening the dock properties dialog and selecting that background.

I really can't help anymore until I know exactly what you are trying to use (even link to what you downloaded).

Sorry for the confusion. I've been kinda lost here and not sure what to call what I downloaded, but here's the link.

Ah, great. Thanks for the link, that helps a lot.

Those are icons for things on your dock, not a theme or a background. Download that, and put all the .png files in a folder in the Object Dock directory (normally C>Program Files>Stardock>Object Dock). You can put them in the Images folder or just make a folder called whatever you want (eg Orbs or something like that). Then find the thing on your dock that you want to change the image for and right click on it, select Dock Item Properties, Change Image and it will open a box that you can see all your icons. Just pick the one you want and you are good to go.
