The MYTH of an open minded liberal

Don't Tread on me!

Lets start off by dispelling this MYTH that liberals are “open Minded”.

They are not even approaching open-mindedness, the only time a liberal is “open minded” is when YOU are agreeing or in total compliance with their views.

Simply test a liberal with a differing point and see how fast their tiny little minds slam shut.

If YOU do not agree with them or march in lock step to how they see the world, watch how fast the slander flies.

You will be labeled hard headed, stupid, out of touch, or just plain WRONG.

They love to sit on their soap boxes and preach equality, and freedom for all, but that’s just a ploy, you’re only equal to them if you think and behave like them, and the only freedom they offer is the freedom FROM CHOICE, it’s their way or nothing.

Sooner or later {I hope later} they are going to have to come to the reality America sees them for the shams they are.

I have tried to be kinder with liberals, to NO avail. They see kindness as some kind of weakness, which opens the floodgates of condemnation and scorn.

Remember I have offered peace or war, your choice. I will not stand to be chastised, disrespected or dictated to how I must behave as long as I break no laws.

Tread at your own peril {poetic license}.

Remember one of the very first flags to be flown in America has a venomous snake on it saying, DON’T TREAD ON ME.

Two points:
1 - Attacking 'liberals' is not a moderate activity. Consider a new screen name.
2 - By you own admission you hold numerous views that are considered 'liberal' (Pro-choice, gun control, etc). So does that mean you are criticizing yourself when you make these ad hominem attack posts?

True, there are some liberals out there that will respond as you say, but there are also a number of conservatives that would call you a treasonous, unpatriotic, terrorist supporter, the minute you criticize the administration, the president or his policies.

Moderateman, what have I told you about generalizations? But I guess you're right. I'm close-minded. After all, I wasn't the first person to expressedly forgive you for calling everyone in my party a weak-minded America-hating sheep when you apologized. And I definently didn't take you up on that peace offer. Nope, not at all. (I know you don't usually include me in any of these articles, but I really hate it when you make such generalizations)

Your rightist drivel is far from moderate but definitely "twisted." [and that's probably what Tex is driving at.]

I think Eisenhower said it best:
"I have no patience with extreme Rightists who call everyone who disagrees with them a Communist, nor with the Leftists who shout that the rest of us are heartless moneygrubbers."

1 - Um, not 'your' blog. Unless you are Mr StarDock UbiSoft & you wrote the terms of use for this site.

Um, yes it is according the AUP. He can write anything he wants as long as he does not directly attack anotehr user by name.
The site is not his, the blog is.

As long as he follows Joeuser's terms of service, I think you'll find it is *his* blog!

No surprise, but I agree with the Modman.

Cons are traditionally the accepted "closed-minded" stiffnecks. After coming here for a few months, however, I've seen that many Libs are truly worse than they accuse us of being. You often can't tell them anything, even if you present facts and figures to back up your point. That's not rational.
Perhaps in the past it was true that the Cons were closed-minded and uptight, but the pendulum has swung the other way in recent years. Must be all the drugs they used in the 60s.

Yeah, and oddly enough, they claim credit for civil rights legislation that bans, among other thing, discrimination based on religious belief.

Things that make you go hmmm...

take care, folks.

This may be a simple misunderstanding that appears to have TWO correct views. (How's that for open minded? )

FYI, I access ModMan's posts via www.politicalmachine.com. It's a video game site with a 'forum' page, not a blog site.

And I definitely didn't know that my posts appeared elsewhere when I submit them. I can't say I'm crazy about that. But thanks for the wider info.

I did not realize that all the sites were not blog sites or better ahd a blog on them. Ok, you are correct, for partial understanding, and I was wrong for partial understanding. Which makes both of us right.

I gotta stop or any more open minded and my brains are going to fall ou!
