Justice League Rocks!
Changing to a later time slot and targeting adults makes for better stories
Did anybody see the episode of Justice League last weekend? It now airs at 10pm EST on Cartoon Network. It is not a kiddie show any more that is certain.
This past episode, "A better world", had Superman lobotomizing enemies (when they were lucky) and killing them when they were not so lucky. Of course, this was all an alternative dimension version of the Justice League we saw but the very fact that they showed the JLA taking the gloves off is a far cry from the typical animated fare where nobody ever gets hurt. There were even sexual innuendo. I think it's wonderful that Cartoon Network has finally figured out the target audience for these things. Generation Y/X and older. Not little kids. This change to the show's philosophy has opened up much more interesting plots. There have been occasionally throw backs such as the episode where a time travel change causes the Nazi's to win World War II and the show refused to show the swastika (instead it has a different symbol). However, as a whole, the show has really become a must-see fare.
