Photo Albums mentioned at IRC

Yesterday Frogboy mentioned that the site will soon allow those with personal websites "Photo Albums" I'd like a little more information. What are the restrictions for posting on these pages, size, content, format. Will it be limited to just photography and what kind of moderation will they be subject to. I realize this is probably a bad day to ask since staff is probably off for the weekend. If need be I'll bump the post again Monday.

What are the restrictions for posting on these pages, size, content, format

We do not made final descisions yet but here is what we are looking at.

Moderation: None, but we will reserve the right to remove any questionable/offensive material

Content: Any type, as long as it is not illigal or generally offensive (ie: no pornography, etc etc)

Size: Initially we are going to start out low with something like 10MB's of storage space.  No restriction on the individual image size as long as it does not exceed the storage limit.  After we have the photo album implemented for a time and tested we will review it and look into increasing the storage limit.

Format: We will probably only allow .jpg's in the beginning and may increase that to .gif, .png and .bmp's.  We are still undecided on this.

Thanks T-Man, the storage limit's a little on the low side for digital photography. I believe it would probably amount to maybe 6 or 7 pics unles I go to higher lossey compression. But beggars can't be choosers and I look forward to it. Personally I'd like to see tif as a possible format as they provide the best quality. Then you'd get 1 or 2 for every 10mb but as long as you can change the content fairly often it would still be workable.
