"Gravity?" and "Thanks"

Will gravity affect ship movement? I just thought that that might be a nifty feature-- if there was a black hole on the map it could conceivably cause local traffic to be pulled toward it and eventually obliterated. You would therefore have to steer clear of them. Might be a neat trait on scenario maps...

By the way-- this is only my second post on this forum. I wanted to say that GCI restored my faith in space civilization games and I enjoyed it a lot. I'm looking forward to trying out the Beta of GC2, how ever unpolished it may be. Thanks for creating such a great game that will fufill my megalomaniacal, evil empire-building-squash-the-little-people fantasies. Kudos!

certain weapons are harder to use, these could be used strategically and tactically.

But as I said, the AI will have to understand that. This is the most difficult part.

Black holes could also have a positive effect on research at nearby starbases and planets, as they would be excellent places to observe scientific phenemona.

good chance of defeating the fleet modified by the black hole's effect and then decides from there.) Having it use the black hole for strategic defence would be harder, though.

one ship per module and the effect multiplys by how many tractor beams you have targeting the ship

ven a worry.

You could use a super massive black hole as a piece of terrain. Because it can't be gotten through ships would have to go around.

her, the gravity influnceing them when they are waiting around would effect their speed moveing in and out of subsectors in a way

The drift would just be annoying at that point. One more needless thing to keep track of when you could be paying closer to your research, your oppoent's starship production, your spies, anything.

me for of Anti-Gravity, then they'd never have a problem with gravity.
