Need Help With Changing Themes in OD+

I just purchased OD+ last night after finding out that it has a great use. After a smooth installation I proceeded to WinCustomize.com to download some themes. I found that I liked a few and downloaded them. I continued to unzip them into C:\Program Files\Stardock\ObjectDock\Themes. I then went into Dock Settings -> Load Theme. Once I picked the correct one and tried to apply it, I received this message: "You have selected nothing to apply ; do you wan to not load anything from this theme." Click Yes or No. I get this message on any theme that I try to install.

Any suggestions/help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Does the theme you are trying to load have the extensions *.docktheme? There are only very few themes out there you can download. Most downloads in the OD section are either png-icons, or the background.

If you download something from the OD library that isn't *.docktheme then unzip it: if the unzipped folder contains one ore more *.png files then move this folder into your ObjectDock directory and apply/change the icons by right-clicking on your dock-shortcuts > dock entry properties > change image.

If the folder contains a couple of *.png files plus one file called background.ini then move this folder in your ObjectDock\Background directory and change the background through your Configuration Menu > Appearance (or Tabs and Styles for tabbed docks).

If none of the above applies, and you have indeed downloaded one of the few complete themes available make sure that the file has the extension .docktheme.

To view your extensions open Windowsexplorer > Tools > Folder Options > View > and untick 'hide extensions for known file types'.

Yeah, it's very confusing sometimes, with the term "theme" being used for a multitude of completely different things. A theme could be a set of dock icons that match, but that's not a dock theme (.doctheme).
Using aufisch's examples should get you going.

Thanks for your help aufisch. Everything worked as designed according to your instructions.

Koasati, I agree with you totally. Thanks.

I use OD, but I can't seem to change the theme either. My zip only has a background and png file. I have tried to find that 'change image' option but couldn't find it. Can anyone help? Oh yes, i have already placed my theme in my stardock/objectdock file.

your folder (with the png and the background files) goes into Stardock\ObjectDock\Background

What do you mean with 'change image' option? The 'show extension of known file types' can be found in your Windows Explorer (have a look at my instructions above.
