Question about pre-ordering and the Beta

I only just realized this game was in development, and am interested in pre-ordering for what looks like about 45 bucks, but if I pre-order tonight, will I still qualify to get in on the beta? I see the news post regarding this is several months old, so for all I know the beta is actually already underway.
