Problems with Sys Stats

CAn't seem to get it right

Ok, I have Dled the Sys Stat 2.2.1 or whatever, and can get the menu to come up, but configuring it is beyond me, I am not a computer genius at all. Anyway, I can get it to come up, and show, but it disappears after restart, thing is, there is still a space for it, and it says it still there upon moiuse over, but there is no icon.

Can someone link me to a step by step on setting up Sys Stat so I can use this feature, then I can get away from DesktopX versions.

What are you trying to do exactly? Sysstats basically lets you run SysStats 'docklets' within OD but I guess you already got that far.

Are you trying to load one of the included docklets, or a third party one one?

In general, once you have rightclicked & added a docklet (it should show up as a blue '?') then you rightclick it and select 'load' which will give you a list of preconfigured docklets.

There should be some included documentation describing the various configuration parameters. My SOP when experimenting is to make a backup of the .ini file you're about to mess with and play with the copy.

Some relevant websites...

http://judge.deviantart.com/ This is the author's web site (I haven't used it much so can't vouch for it).

http://www.dockex.com/ This is a good source of docklets from other users and has some forums that you can ask questions in. The webmaster is not updating the site very actively at the moment due to other commitments but that will change in May.

http://www.aqua-soft.org/board/forumdisplay.php?s=&daysprune=30&f=76 This is a quite active forum in with some knowledgable and helpful participants.

HTH!

Thanks for the links, I will get into them and see what I can find.

I have done pretty much everything you said, right click on the SysStat, and load what I want. It shows up, and runs fine, but if I reboot, it is gone, well, as described before, there but not. I get an error message saying that SysStats didn't load correctly and to try reinstalling.

Ok, one thread is probably enough - too confusing otherwise. Let's stick with this one shall we? Now you say:

i put all the files in the docklets folder

It's important that you unzip the SysSyats archive so that the files arrive in the proper folders. I guess the easiest way is to copy the SysStats zip file into your OD program directory and extract there while using any required option to preserve the internal structure of the zip file when extracted.

You'll have to unload OD and reload it so it will 'pick up' the required SysStats DLL's. You may need to register them manually if that doesn't work (regsvr32 SysStatsCOM.dll).

Now you're ready to add a docklet (look at my answer in thread under the 'General' topic).

You should be then be up and running!
