How is our patience tested this day?

Well we all know that this new site is in need of extermination. There are bugs every day and it seems as if they are always different. Today I am trying to submit a skin, and the page for that just loads forever and nothing happens. No time out, no error, just looks as if it's loading. Throbber is throbbing, the whole bit. For a half an hour it loads and still nothing. This site is REALLY cool, but I think that the patience of many is being tried.

The first day or two of switchover was a bit iffy....but since then I worked out it's all about patience and confidence that things will be sorted when the time is right.

If I'm not worried about the quirky idiosyncrasies then I don't think anyone else should be....

Well it is frustrating at times..but, I always try to take it easy and keep my cool. I am sure that there is a lot of work involved in what they are doing so we just have to be patient..in the end I am sure it will be worth the frustrations we may face now. patience is virtue !

Can I have patience now?

...and I didn't mean exterminate the site; just the bugs.

Glad you clarified that! I too have my patience tested everyday. I have seen so many different problems it would take an hour to get it all down. Anyway this morning I could'nt even get on the site for over an hour. The download stats are way behind as well as all the rest. I'm sure they will have it fixed soon? Meanwhile I will enjoy the times I am able to talk with all of you and navigate the pages.

Smile! Maybe this will help! LOL

Same here, I just moved on to the next project.

It is a good opportunity to try different design ideas, or read up on the software a bit, or just relax and take it in stride.

I have faith that we should be back to uploading in no time.

I don't have paitence. My main computer is having issues. It doesn't want to do what I tell it to do. So now I have to reinstall a fresh copy of windows. Hopefully this will fix the problem.

Before that, I didn't have my notebook for 2days since the AC Adapter fried and I got a replacement under warrenty.

Now I got so much school work to catch up on and I needed the computer to do it. Plus I'm trying to get version two of my project done.

The only thing on the site that has effected me was the timeouts every so often and I can't get in the marathon thread

Patience may....behind. I still can't get to the Chocolate Planet! (Marathon Thread). I just know that Fuzzy Logic and Feline and the rest of the rascalians are looting my Treehouse! Besides my Hershey's kisses are melting!

I am sure TMan is working on the problem. I am sure it has been overwhelming trying to get the new site running smooth. He also must deal with everyones little issues and is doing an outstanding job tending to that stuff. Perhaps a vacation is in order.

I agree, Night Train. He's been doing a great job. Maybe they need more than one person. Maybe they have more than one person. We are all trying to be patient but if it is an overwhelming task, they should gear up for it. If we are going to construct a skyscraper, we get all of the tools, people, contractors, subcontractors, project managers lined up before the ground is broke, and then the grand opening is not done until every issue is resolved at the end (at least for vavcancy purposes). I am not sure that the comparison is just. A skyscraper costs more and is financed by someone.

But since this is to be the cadillac of skinning sites, it really should get enough of the right people to fix the issues in a timely fasion.

I have to agree with ya SD. I am also still trying to upload, only to have the same thing happen as you are. I know they are doing their best, but by the time they get it fixed there will be so many uploads it will take weeks to get them all up. And by the way feel free to call me Cindi. At least we can still B...H to one another!

Smile!

Hey SD, It is getting better. Now you can get to step 2 in upload!

Thanks Cindi!! I'm preteding to be at work so will try it tonight.

I've been having nothing but problems as well with the new site. And I agree that most of the bugs should have been worked out before switching from a working site to a buggy one.

Fixed now!! Thank you T-Man!!!

Jafo keeps saying it takes a day or two to get all the bugs out - well need I remind Jafo that it has been 2 months?

..lost me there, Donna. I'm familiar with the quote, just not the application.

I think its past the point of patience. Like with any other site, when you visit a few times and you see things are not working properly...you move on. Before, the old site worked fine...this new site is like subscribing to a magazine and they only send you the front cover...whats the point of re-subscribing anymore?

The problem though is that like others here there has been money invested so to speak, so many of us have a stake in what happens here. And I have no doubt that T-Man is working hard...hats off to him... but it's obviously more than one person can deal with since the problems seem to be getting worse, so he should be given some help...fast. Or don't...and watch sales, visitors and subscriptions drop off.

I personally like this site...have spent alot of money here, and hope that things get worked out post haste, but if they don't I'll have to think twice about re-subscribing.

I guess today it is not seeing any comments indicated on my skins page so I very rudely did not thank all of the good folks who had made some very nice comments. Tomorrow is another day.
