Icon Developer doesn't save gloss layer

Whenever I try to make an icon from a png object that I've exported from Corel, icon developer saves it as an ico file but when I open it up, the gloss I create on top of the object doesn't save. It's on the png file, ust doesn't save to the ico file.

Anyone else experience this?

I know that in Photoshop, you have to merge layers and create a top layer which incorporates all the effects, then export or copy that top layer to keep your effects.

It is probably similar in CorelDRAW, though I am just learning that program.

Make sure that the Gloss is getting Exported. I do it all the time form corel and dont have any problems. The only thing I can think of is that you have it on a layer that is not getting exported.

First I'd like to thank both of you for your responses. I looked into the merge posibility because I also have that on Paint Shop Pro, but I couldn't find that option on Corel. It could e there, but termed differently. I had already seen mormegil's video on exporting, which is actually what gave me the courage to finally try to make my first icon in Corel and export it. The first icon I did exported fine without any problems and I didn't think I changed any settings. But the upgraded icon would export as a png file but not as an ico file through Icon Developer.

After trying a number of different things that I won't bore you with, I finally just tried to save the icon in a different folder. IT WORKED!! I think the stupid folder or the other files in the original folder were corupted in some way! Unbelievable!

Anyways, I finally have it working. Thanks guys!!!
