Dog Whisperer My Ass!

So I'm channel surfing the other day, and normally I only scan through 2 sets of channels. One set has E!, Discovery, Animal Planet and the like, and the other set has MTV, History Channel, TNT and what not. Well for some reason I kept going and went past all the news channel and ended up on the National Geographics Channel. There was this show on called "The Dog Whisperer" The show is about this guy, Cesar Millan, that goes around southern California and takes on all these fucked up dogs. Aggressive dogs, fearful dogs, destructive dogs, you get the picture. It is truly amazing to see what this guy can do with these guys in a relatively short period of time.

As I watched the show more and more (there is absolutly nothing worth watching at 5p.m. CST in Texas) I begain to notice a pattern to the

I read you article and I must point out one thing to you. That is not all there is to it. It is just a show with a small part of it. And if you wan't to become a Whisperer of any kind you're gonna have to calm your spirit down quit a bit first. The kind of energy you diplay in your writing is very destructive and negative.

I hate to say it, clwoods, but I don't think you *got it*. The last comment was obviously tongue in cheek.

Nice article, pidge. I wish you well in your dog whispering enterprises. We have a couple strays you might want to work on (whisper a few words to 'em about celibacy, wouldja?)

Of course, pidge, by now, you know the trend includes "super nanny" for bratty kids!

I think the whole thing is ri-frigging-diculous myself!

I actually watched that show once....it seems like some kind of con to me. There's no special technique, it's just letting your dog know that it's your bitch. The people on there are either pansies, stupid, or afraid of their dogs. I've never had trouble with any of my dogs because a little "assertion" goes a long way, smack them when they screw up and praise them when they do what you want...there's the secret whispering trick for dogs....also could be applied to kids....

I agree completely about the people on the show, but I do have to admit that the guy does have a way with the dog. He'll go into a yard with nothing but a paper sack to block the dog, and I wouldnt have gone in with a fully padded suit.

I also agree about the assertion, and you assertion, that it would work well on kids.
