STOP THE MADNESS!!!!!

I can't take it anymore! Every single political article I look at here somehow becomes (if it isn't already) just Rightist/Leftist propaganda as to why the other party should be driven out of the country! I am being driven insane here! None of you can seem to grasp that people can have different opinions without being evil! So, here is a little briefing for you:

People are allowed to support the president without blindly following him.

People are allowed to disagree with the president without being treasonous America-haters

People are allowed to be Republican without being wealthy and/or a bigot

People are allowed to be Democrat without being anti-america and/or a 'small-minded sheep'

Am I stopping here? Yes. Is there more? Once more, yes. Now, I know not everyone here is doing this intolerable....intolerability. And I commend everyone who isn't. But I'm sick of reading what I think is an insightful article, then have some person destroy the entire point by saying, basically, 'Liberals/conservatives are bigots!'

One more thing. Don't anyone comment here that someone else started it. I don't care who you think started it, I care who will end it.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, for this!  There's an awful lot of name calling going on here recently, and it really saddens me.  I've seen more 'loony left' comments that I care to remember......

...fr the record, I'm not left, and I'm not right.  I'm not a Democrat, nor am I a Republican.   I'm neither liberal or conservative.  I am me,  and I have my own opinion and thought about what's right and what's wrong politically.

But it's fun to be mad, it makes life more entertaining

Deep breaths. Deep breaths.

Some of the most destructive vitriol on the site is from people passing themselves off as moderates. Now I won't name any names (or did I already ) but the way some people here refer to their opposition as the 'luny' or 'loony' left shows nothing more than the inability to recognize those who disagree as they really are. Also, I have seen enough of "activist judges." Some people resort to calling judges activists whenever a court makes a ruling one is not in favor of. It seems on this site the bitter hatred and resentment is beginning to trump reason and discourse.

Good article.

Danny, it sure adds a spice to life, but that same spice has probably taken 40 collective years off of the lives of JUsers.

I'm glad you said it NJforever, but I fear that everyone is too far gone and that you are preaching on deaf ears.

I know what you're saying. But it is a blog. That's what happens in most political blogs. Yeah, I wish everyone could just discuss politics without resorting to extreme accusations and name-calling, but I won't delude myself. Everyone, Everyone, has to recognize the problem and make a conscious effort to refrain.

Good luck on the "who will end it" thing.

May I presume that my article created the need for this post?
Lol.. I do not try to.. ok what the hell.. I do try to categorize people. I will not lie. But... nobody falls perfectly categorized.. they are just my.. observations.

No, actually it was Moderateman's 'Who the democrats have become' article that pushed me over the edge. But it was late when I read his and I decided to put it off. Yours did contribute to it though.

Yeah, that article was one of the most hateful ones here. Then, he gets all bent out of shape when a dem responds accordingly. Loves to dish it out, but hates taking it.

I will admit that I'm one of the most vocal (so to speak) righty haters here. And, I'm not apologetic for it. Not all righties, and not all republicans, though admittely, I do not understand them. I just hate the extremeist hate mongering that a few righties seem to get such glee in spewing here, like the article the moderateman wrote about democrats. As long as people like moderateman, drmiler, whipsy dipsy, etc. think it's OK to continually trash liberals, then I will respond. Period.

That's BS! *moderateman* can take as well as he gives. We don't like *your* hate mongering or that of your extreme leftist *comrades* any more than you appreciate ours. You trash us (whipsy dipsy), we trash you. Go figure.
And just an FYI.... I don't trash ALL liberals. Just you in particular.

Bout time someone said what you did! Sheesh....so much intolerance here lately between Bush supporters and opponents. I thought all the bickering would end with the election.... but it seems to have gotten worse since the innauguration.
We lost...they won!!!!.... Lets all accept that and move on!

Time for some soul searching (or is it naranchai searching?). I don't think it's intolerance so much as differences of opinions. However, it's all in how you express the difference of opinion. Just say 'I disagree with you and here is why:' and then list your points. Once you start to curse and name-call then you undermine your own arguement. You come across as extreme and people reading your post immediately dismiss you as a kook, not worth listening to. Keep it civil and people will at least listen to what you say.

Mano, I thought you lived in Israel.  Do you hold dual citizenship?  If you are an Israeli, then you cant vote, and you did not lose (I dont think you have had elections recently).......just a bit confused here.

Yes... I hold duel citizenshio... Israeli and Canadian...
No... I did not "lose", but as long as Bush is an ardent supporter of Sharon... I think I'm entitled to an opinion...or at least a cookie

yep wishing me dead and rotting in hell is so much more reasonable than me expressing an opinion about the democratic party that I was a member of for 26 years

Frankly, I think both Republicans and Democrat have abandoned their core, and neither party can hold claim to a moral high ground.

I have repeatedly explained why I left the Democratic party despite over 15 years of dedication to them. As with the party, no Democrat online has even ACKNOWLEDGED my position, but rather, asserted, as you do, that I have a bias against Democrats (ok, I do have a bias against democrats....but no more so than my bias against republicans).

The Democrats were, for many years, the party I loved, the party I worked for, the party I defended. I never abandoned them, they abandoned me.

And until that is acknowledged and that wound is healed, I will not be a part of their party.

I think diverse opinions are terrific. it makes a person think...But when I attack a party and then get attacked on a personal level, then I get downright mean. I offered to stop attack politics yesterday,, but when I see me being used as a reason for anything it does manke me wonder who and what kind of people I am dealing with. btw only one from the left took me up on my offer of peace and courteous discourse. ONE..

I'm all for peace Moderateman. I may have been angry when I wrote this, but it's all I really want. I'm just as mad at liberals who thrash the right in such a way.

We don't like *your* hate mongering or that of your extreme leftist *comrades* any more than you appreciate ours. You trash us (whipsy dipsy), we trash you.

Yeah, cause that will solve everything. I've heard of two people, what were their names, oh yeah, Gandhi and Martin Luther King Jr. Be the bigger man, drmiller!

Um, I'm not quite sure if you got this, but that quote you put in there was a quote from me. I'm all for peace, but I don't like to be called an America-haitng sheep just because I'm a Democrat.

And I extend the Olive Branch to all of you.
