Economy

A lot of people are putting the blame on Bush for our tremendous deficits and financial troubles. This is understandable, a lot of people think that the current President is the one responsible. It is not always accurate, however. The decline in the economy happened before Bush was even in office, because the budget is always done one year ahead. So in 2001, they already had the budget for 2002, which is were a noticeable economic decline occurred. To me it is like saying Martin Van Buren was responsible for the decline of the economy during his term, when it was really Andrew Jackson stuffing all of the cash into 'pet banks.'

True. Why do you think they call it Reganomics? Because since Regan was in office and regardless of party. We have had a tremendous economy. Everyone has been happy and spending extra money, but now people are cinching up their belts, jobs are being lost and unemployment is based on those enrolled in the program and not the hundreds of thousands who have exausted their and have gotten off the program and still not working.

Actually they call it Reganomics because he espoused the idea of a trickle down economy and presided over the collapse of the S&Ls. Just out of curiousity were you even alive during the Regan administration Occultpizza?
