1000 car accidents

Well as many of you might know or might not know Over the course of all of this snow there has been a big impact on traffic. More than 1000 cars crashed from ohio down to North Carolina. ( http://aolsvc.news.aol.com/news/article.adp?id=20050121104409990003 ) The one good thing is that there was no fatal accidents. It also said that some people were stuck in traffic jams for more than eight hours. That is a lot of time to be stuck in a car. You need to have a saftey kit in your car. Well I think that in 1000 wrecks and no one was killed is good.

Dude, you've got a weather fetish...wow. Okay, enough stating the obvious....

1000 crashes and no fatalities?...That's interesting, you'd think at least 50% or so would die....strange

Well, living in NC, I can tell you are correct about the accidents. Because the snow turned the roads to sheets of ice, it became a nightmare. I sat in traffic for over 6 hours trying to get home (normally a 20 minute trip). Anywhere there was a road grade with a slight incline, cars were sliding off the road and into each other. I witnessed about 2 dozen wrecks, and hundred of vechicles sliding around in that time period. (Me too, I slid off a grade on the interstate and was afraid I would have to abandon my car for a bit. Luckily I got traction). The best thing was, with the snow and ice, people were taking it slow. So the majority of accidents were just property damage to vehicles.
