Space Monsters

I have one question, why were there space monster in Galactic Civilizations 1? Wut i mean by that is why would they all of a sudden at the turn of 2178 would they start attacking earth and such, why wouldn't they have attacked man kind before now. I just wanted to know if anyone knew the story behind this, and how space monsters will be handled in Gal Civ 2~ thx

ittle space monst...... It'd make things interesting.. Just wouldn't want to have to face a fleet of 'em.

se in actually attacking them though, they never did much damage with such low movement. just a nuisance really and not a real big part of the game....wouldn't make much difference to me if they weren't in gc2

To be fair the beasties picked on the AI races too.

ten led Space Sharks to enemy starbases and enemy worlds. However, they are a big pain early on until you get them properly hooked on your lure.
