Military Might

One thing I noticed in GalCiv I is that military might is based on the number of ships you have and not the type or power of the ships you have. So basically you could build up a massive ship base of weak & cheap(inexpensive, low build time) ships and have a huge military which would deter other races from attacking you. It seemed kind of a cheap way of getting around having to go to war. Personally I'd like to see that changed so the other races are truly aware of how strong your military is. So if they have a ship with AT 20 HP 20 and you have 10 ships with AT 2 HP 2 they would see you as more or less an equal in military might standings.

litary rating simply because of the increase of its attack factor. However you are right because big ships were ridiculously underrated. This must be changed.

ch would lose, enmasse to a battle ship that was, on paper only a little over twice as tough.

What we need to do in GalCiv II is have Hitpoints come into play more.

So military might would be based on HP & some other factors? I could see how that would change things.

How about Millitary might based on the cost of building the ship (but only combat ships)?

of time & it would appear as you were equals but in reality his battleships would destroy your corvettes.

Cost of ships doesn't take into account your +50% hit points from mil party and +30% attack due to various techs, so it's not accurate.
