Being Overrun with Right Wing Crazies

I have decided its official this time:

This site has been overrun with right wing crazies. I would like to take a tally, anyone who does not support Bush blindly, please raise a hand (or rather a comment). I mean, I find I can't walk (or browse) from one forum to another with out being bombarded with crazed posts attacking people from the right (and then there are the counter attacks). So please, someone, let me know you are out there, because I feel like an alien landed on mars today.

Bush is an inept President whose intelligence is quite suspect, which is more than can be said for his foreign policy, or lack thereof. I guess us liberals need to stick together, eh?

Sandy, I feel.............errrr, let me rephrase that.............. I know that Bush is merely a puppet, a rather stupid puppet of the neocon death cult who actually pull the strings and are setting this horrific foreign and national policy right now. They are all, including Bush, a bunch of ruthless thieves who will stop at nothing to steal your health care, your environment, your house, your retirement, and your civil liberties.

Yes, I agree that this site is overrun with the jingoists who support these failed policies. But, we have to stick together and save those poor misinformed individuals from themselves. The reason I don't post to predominantly left leaning sites is, frankly, I have no interest in preaching to the choir. This is my mission. Either they'll get the message, or I'll just annoy the shit out of them. Either way, I'm having fun. And, that's what it's all about. So, hang tough, Sandy. Stick around. Do your thang. You do it well. After all, we're all in this together (she said, feeling rather pompous and condescending today).

Yes, the place does sometimes seem overrun with the Ructiously Rancid Rabidly Raving Ramstam Retrogressive Realpolitik Right (how do you like my alliteration?),but there are people, myself included, who lean to the left. Don't fret sandy2, we have a presence here too. As dabe indicated, just have as much fun as you can with it. Don't take it all too seriously.

shrug.

when you visit joeuser, use your blog site as the page you go to. i.e. go to sandy2.joeuser.com instead of joeuser.com. this does two things:

1) you can avoid the lame denounciations of the left. makes joeuser much more platable when the first thing you see coming here isn't three articles with the subtext or thesis being, "you and people like you suck!"

2) you also avoid inadvertantly giving points to whatever poorly written right-rant is on the front page (anyone remember when one of the suggestions for getting an article on the front page be that it follow proper spelling, grammar, at least most of the time?). you can still see if any front page articles interest you by glancing at the sidebars.

The title of this weblog entry intrigued me.  I actually read your article.  You see, I have quit reading nearly all politically-slanted weblogs on the site.  (Due to my distaste of arguing about politics.)

There's nothing really that I can add besides: You're right.

Good suggestion. I've now done that. Works great.

I want to say I don't like many aspects of the U.S. President. But I can't.

Being a trully heterosexual male I find it very, very difficult to type the sentence, "I don't like Bush."

No, just can't do it.

I, in many ways, agree with Moderate, where we disagree is probably in how much wrong and right those two presidents did and are doing.

Cheers

bush...oh you mean George dummy! yes, i don't like him. he's quite possibly the worst president the us has ever had. and do you know why? b/c he's a fascist. they claim to love america but how often does he want to change the constitution. Well, he's good for the war on terror, you say? here's a quote : "Naturally the common people don't want war, but after all, it is the leaders of a country who determine the policy, and it is always a simple matter to drag people along whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. This is easy. All you have to do is to tell them that they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in every country." Sound familiar, like some of bush's policies? now remember back to when the patriot act was announced or the homeland security bill. people who didn't support them were deemed unpatriotic. the person who said this quote was Herman Goering, Hitler's Reich-Marshall, at the Nuremburg Trials after WWII.

Just raising my hand, sandy2, in response to your call. I know how much of a difference it can make to receive a little support from time to time. Courage!

Curious isn't it, how the word 'moderate' can be construed to mean completely different things to different people?

This has been done like 100 times, and no matter how many times Brad shows people that at least 50% of the articles posted are left-leaning, no one listens.

Anyway, you need to get off your high horse and stop assuming that anyone that supports Bush does so blindly.  You have a serious problem understanding that your idea of "right" and "truth" is not universal.  Someone can have a totally valid opinion and be completely at odds with your idea of the world.  The fact is, the world has been run by right-leaning people for 10,000 years, and frankly it hasn't exploded and the human race has fourished.

The most stolid, inflexible people I know at this site lean left, and that pretty much flies in the face of the term "Liberal".  If you were the majority, no doubt you'd like "My way or the highway" just fine.  Be satisfied with a balance.  It could be worse.

<p>As I have said, COUNTLESS times before, go make an airheaded far-right rant and see what kind of reaction you get.  Go look at a few of my right-leaning articles.  I think you'll find the "Liberals" on this site are anything but silent.

I think that there's both right and left wingers on this site. However, often times I find that the right wingers tend to use strong arm and bullying tactics to bait the left wingers, who fall for it all the time. Then the right wingers proceed to point out how rude the left wingers are when they respond. Who cares? Let 'em have each other. By the way, sandy2, I beleive Bush to be part of the most elite class in this country, the very class of people this country was founded on NOT handing over the people's power to. Bush is a rich boy who wouldn't even be seen having a beer with the majority of right wingers on this site (unless it was for a photo-op). They just aren't in his social circle. But it's good to see that Bush has transcended merely being a wealthy member of the elite set. He is now a very accomplished actor, his main role being the down-home Texas cowboy "man of the people". He is also a very astute career criminal.

Long live Bill Clinton!

I hope this means I'm with you Sandy!
P.S. I detest Bush and his antagonistic right wing policies that have antagonized both anyone with a different view and anyone who live in Europe and is not Tony Blair.

So Sandy, are you feeling less alone? Are you feeling like there are a bunch of us out here, even though we're not a bunch of loud, sanctimonious, rabble-rousing luddite haters?
We're here. We're just not as obnoxious. And, I do think we tend to spend more time wriing better and more thought out articles and being as articulate as possible, instead of just spewing bile from our finger tips (except Brad, who writes really well). I think we spell better, also. We're quality instead of quantity.

Very true... I have realized that worthless articles, such as one by a certian "Doctor Miller" entitled something like Sporo *Insert Slur Here*, are just that. Worthless. Nonsense. So, instead of using my previous method of considering all articles as articles, I will only consider articles that have thought put into them as articles. I feel an article coming right now, I just don't have time to right it. It will not be right wing bashing, though it will have a title like "The two types of republicans" or something else like that.
