The American Eagle cannot fly with a weak leftwing

The great American eagle has two wings, metaphorically this represents the two parties {that matter} of American politics.

The right wing of which I am a proud member of, and the left wing which I USED to be a proud member of.

Although the right wing is far from perfect, we are much more in touch with how the average American thinks and feels.

As far as I can tell the right wing is doing most of the “work” these days, which is why America is spinning around in circles.

While the left wing is busy preening and flexing its non existent muscles the eagle {which for the left mean AMERICA}(as you can see I am making sure the left can understand this post so I am over simplifying things} America is in danger and the left wing is doing nothing but congratulating themselves for the “great champions “ of the American people they are and how ungrateful the common man is to them.

When is the left going to learn in order for American to grow and remain great, they are going to have to do some serious changes, get more BACK in line with the Majority of America, which means tradition, tradition and tradition.

So while all you lefties are busy slapping each other on the back going on and on about how you all are best for America, try to give us of the right some room to do the real work of protecting America and making her more prosperous.

My solution would be to strengthen the eagles' left wing so it can fly better. (gotcha)

2 Things.

First, I so want a moderate leftie to run for president so I can vote for them (him or her).  I think the best government is the one that governs least, and with congress in republicans hands, we need an honest and ethical Democrat to run (so that counts out Clinton).

Second, we need Democrats to stop carping and start fixing.  As long as they have buffoons like Kennedy and Byrd being their spokespersons, the populace will not take them seriously.  Sure, they will get their syncophantic drones to bleat with them, but they only represent 20-30% of the populace, and as you can see from some of the posters here, have not had an original thought since conception.

It is nice that we stopped the left slide into mediocrity.  Now we need an FDR/JFK to lead us again into greatness.  Sadly, I dont see any on the horizon.  I hope I am wrong.

I award you the prize of cheesiest headline in recent memory.

Now as for the text that followed such a headline, there really is nothing there.
You use words like strength and weakness to back up your headline but don't suggest any reasons why you feel this way.
You say the Right is doing most of work...what work? I'm not saying this isn't true, but what are speaking of specifically?
You suggest that the left needs to get back in touch with "tradition, tradition, tradition," yet America was founded on the basis of a minority of dissenting voices seeking their freedom from an oppressive government. I think you'll be hard pressed to show how (I may be going out on a limb here) the "right-wing" Bush administration has made strides to either preserve or increase the freedom of American citizens.

IMO the right wing is just trying to coast and the left wing has to do all the flapping or we dont get anywhere. the right wing has been preening for quite a while. the right wing has shown that it only stands up for the powerful interests, that if you are a member of a minority or not at the top of the pay scale, you have no voice in this country.

first off I did not say the right is doing the most work , I said the left should back off there whineing and complaining and if they do not then they should let the right do the work.

I am all for dissent, when when someone blocks everything in the NAME of dissent. thats just silly.

Bush has done everything in his power to keep the united states safe. I for one have not seen any lessoning of MY cival rights. but then again I am not a lawbreaker or a terroist.

hate to tell you, but if you make 100,000 you are well out of the middle class. you fall into that special interests group the administration caters to.

I think Guy's "Do or do not" quote is actually Yoda

Give us some time to regroup. Right now the Democratic party is where the Republican party was in 1993.

I think there's a shift going on within my party as we speak. I for one say its about damn time.

Not hardly!  Try it with 4 kids (2 in college 2 on the way).  Macaroni and Cheese are still staples around here!  But then I am not on welfare so I cant buy the Tbones with food stamps!

And I get tax cuts, not welfare handouts.

Well, I wouldn't worry too much about the American Eagle. If the right wing has gotten so strong, I'm sure they'll fly using their most common resource -- hot air.

Damn!  Caught me!  Tis true.  It is Yoda.

But if you are right, and the democrats are 11 years behind the curve, then they are a lot further along than I give them credit for.  But I dont think they will take congress again soon.  That leaves the presidency.  And I hope you are right! I do not like the deficits these clowns are runnning up.  PLEASE give us a candidate to vote for!

Then quit breeding, you idiot. Don't ask me for sympathy when you could have practiced some friggin' reproductive responsibility.

And I get tax cuts, not welfare handouts.

These tax cuts are rich people welfare. So don't front.

What's insulting is that people want sympathy because their budgets are tight -- and then you find out that they have multiple kids. If you want your money to stretch furthur, then don't have so many damned kids.

As for you, mano, get a life.

For someone that often speaks as a liberal or leftwinger, your ideology is getting closer to the maxwellian way of death than to reality. Nastiness, condemnation will get you nowhere but into a lonely corner. If thats the way you want it, continue as you are. If not, then I suggest you yourself get a life.

I'm beginning to think those Maxwell folks might be right about you, mano.

but let's not hijack this thread because you're an ultra-sensitive prat, ok?
