You should try to pay attention to the entire conversation latour999 and I were having. To summarize, what we were saying was that political leaning, whether left or right, never results in Canadians shooting at each other. The men we were talking about were leaders of our different political parties. (Of course, I didn't really expect you to know this.)

Also, a highly recognizable person making a documentary, armed with nothing but a camera, showing up at a Canadian's door, would not be shot at. Our police would frown on such a thing. But, I guess our laws are different than yours in this respect.

Now the outcome of a Montreal Canadiens/Toronto Maple Leafs hockey game has been known in the past to spark some violence, but that's a different matter.

We were not saying that there are no, nor has there ever been, sicko murderers in Canada. That's just silly. Of course there are. We are a western nation after all.

I think what the Republicans can never forgive Moore for is one of the scariest but also one of the most effective 5 minutes of film ever seen. The image of Bush sitting in front of a class of children staring blankly into space as terrorists destroyed the World Trade Center was truly chilling film. It sent shivers down the spine to think that this 'bunny caught in the spotlight' has enough nuclear weapons to destroy mankind several times over at his fingertips.
It is this 5 minute image that the Republicans will never be able escape and they will always hate the man who showed it to the country and the world. I have no doubt that a man like Clint Eastwood who has long snce blurred the line of where his movie persona stops and his real life persona starts, meant every word he said.

None of the Asian leaders reacted this way on news of the Tsunami, an event that dwarfed 9/11 in magnitude. By your reckoning they would have stayed immobile for hours. All Bush showed is he was not up to the job at hand.
