curserxp in 64 bitamd

doesn't work

I just got my 64 bit Athlon loaded and tried to install CurserXP but it goes haywire. The appearance isn't right and I lose all functionality of the curser. I use it on my other computer (not 64 bit). Is this a know issue with a fix? I have to have CurserXP. There are no other decent cursers anywhere that I've found. Thank you for any help you can give!

Yes, you are correct, it is a known problem. However, the newest version of CursorXP (1.31.015) supports AMD64 Processors. This is from the readme file:

What's new in CursorXP Plus 1.31 (December 2004)

- Support for DEP on AMD64 processors running 32-bit Windows XP SP2.

I would recommend you download the newest version from stardock https://www.stardock.com/products/cursorxp/downloads.asp

Note that I am not sure wether the free CursorXP is version 1.31. I you have the enhanced version you can get the 1.31 through stardock central.

This process of updating is a bit frustrating, to be polite. I click on your LINK and it takes you to a screen supposedly to download 1.31. But, there it just asks you for your email address and emails you a generic form telling you what you bought and what your serial numbers are. There is NO link as implied to download direct.

I also tried to use the Theme Manager to download the new version, but all it does is sit there with no progress. There is no download occurring, even after 30-45 minutes. It just sits there, pages flying from globe to folder and the progress indicator showing no movement.

Help!! How can I download this update?

You need to purchase CursorXP Plus then! Or, there's another way, but you have to edit your boot.ini, which if not done correctly, could mess up a lot more than the $10 that the Plus version is worth.

i realize this is a stupid question but i'm going to ask anyway. i apologize if it comes across as degrading because that is not my intent. have you tried to get the lastest build of CXP via Stardock Central? if you've entered your serial number for the app in "tools - register products", you can get the latest build under the MISC library. if you don't have SDC, you can get the it at http://storage.stardock.com/files/stardockcentral20.exe . good luck, i have an A64 and use CXP. i know they work well together

Thanks. I just downloaded everything last week, so I'm pretty sure I've got the latest. But, I'll reload just in case. Hey, your link works! Just can't figure out why the CursorXP link above doesn't do anything. It takes me to a screen saying enter your email. Then it just sends you an email with some passwords in it. Shouldn't there be a link to 1.31 somewhere?? Seems like I'm being sent in circles...

bbotzong: What exactly did you purchase? Note that the enhanced version of CursorXP is not included in the ObjectDesktop suite.

If you have purchased it, try to do what Satisfied Customer suggested: Enter your Serial number into Stardock Central by clicking on Tools > Registister Products > Misc > and choose CursorXP from the dropdown list next to 'product'.

I purchased object desktop, toon-xp, and a wincustomize subscription. I entered the serials. when I go to the screen to download, it just hangs on the transfer screen with no activity...

I tried the DEP fix and it did NOT work either. Too stubborn to give up. Any other suggestions???

Not at this point I am afraid. I don't know when and whether the free version of CursorXP will get updated for the AMD64 processors.

From what you purchased, you don't seem to have CursorXP plus.
