SP2

Hi,
I am finally gonna bite the bullet and install SP2. My question: Do I need to unload Windowblinds before I do the install, or can I leave it running?

My Windowblinds install hasn't been the same since installing SP2. Even after Uninstalling-rebooting-reinstalling several times. I have mouseover problems in the More Programs Menu in certain Wblinds. Never had it before SP2 can't get rid of it now. Since it only effects certain blinds I can still find good ones to use. But it's usually the ones I like the most that have the problem.

My suggestion would be to unload prior to installation, and cross your fingers.

I didn't have a problem with sp2, but I don't think it will hurt for you to unload before the install.

Before installing SP2, you should reset everything to defaults. Set WB to Windows classic style. If you have Bootskin, make sure that is back to the original XP bootskin, and put Logon Studio back to XP logon.

The install of SP2 should go as sweet as a nut, then you can get back to customizing!

Oh, and if you are using Norton Anti-virus, make sure you disable auto-protect...

Thanks for all the comments. I do have Boot Skin running as well on my desktop, but not my laptop..thanks for mentioning it. I'm assuming that I should put the icons back to something that came with Windows as well, right? I have heard so many nightmares about the SP2 install, that I want to make sure I don't set myself up for it to fail.

Hmm icons is just settings and should not be affected by windows xp sp2 install.

I'm afraid to install SP2. Every time I install an update from Norton or MicrcoSoft, and once in a while from Stardock, it totally messes with my system (ok not every time, but enough that I'm afraid).

What are the advantages of SP2?

I had absolutely not a single problem with updating to SP2. Didn't do anything special to prepare for it, and everything has worked just fine since installation. I could be an exception to the rule, though, of course.

Sp2 is afraid of 'Zilla and wouldn't dare wake him (her)
