widget data doesn't save

Seems as though any DX widget which requires initialization data doesn't save that data between sessions. I've been running Frogboys Aero mail checker and Greenreapers realistic snowflakes. The mail checker never remembers my account info and the snowflake count is always set back to 50. I've tried importing the widget into DX and putting in the settings I want and then recompiling it, but DX, as a security measure I suppose, automatically blanks out mail account info.

Any help?

DesktopX widgets don't seem to save config information, so what I do is import the widget into DX then export it as an object, objects retain the config information after re-starting.

Thanks, that's what I ended up doing, but there's something else which isn't happening when I do that. My theme directory is empty, that folder which shows everything which is loaded and running in DX. I loaded a bunch of objects so I could tweak some of them in a graphics program, but there's nothing there in that folder. Which is very odd. I realize that I can change the extension to .zip, unzip and extract the images, but I shouldn't really have to do that.

Oh well, probably no solutions until Monday.

If you right click on DX2 in the tray and select list objects, all should be there. You can tweak from there.

I realize that I can get to the objects from the 'list objects' list, but I can't edit the images from there. I used to edit object images from the folder under discussion. Koasati is also having this problem and he said that this behavior was part of the changes made for this new version. Maybe Stardock will change it back
