PermRequest: Synthek

Widgets

Normally I would just use email to make a request but we just set up the Permissions topic on the General channel for requesting permissions for different things and since we don't make people's emails public in general, I wanted to show how one would go about this.

danillo0c, you have a really cool suite going there with Synthek, I would like to take it further by using your imagery to create some widgets with it. Could I have your permission for that? Just respond here if you are okay with that.

Hi Brad, thank you and sure, you have my permission to make the Synthek widgets, i just ask you to mail me the screenshots before release it and depending of what kind of widget you want to build i can give you some specific graphics, just mail me.

Great! Thanks. Will do. I'll post the previews and such here.

Just as a general FYI to others, this new sub-topic "Permissions" is designed to make it easier for people to try to obtain permission from different skin authors (not everyone has people's email addresses like I do).

Yes a good idea, especially since with the new set up the email address don't show up any more....drives me CRAZY, but I suppose that's ok, execpt....

What if the person you want the permssion from never checks here?
I know I very rarely ever come here at all...

So, maybe you guys could make it where artists had the choice as to if their emails show up in their author information. Then those who want more privacy and less spam will know to have a look here once in a while and the others that don't mind people emailing them can post their email...

Good idea, but as that sub-section doesn't pop up, a skinner would have to go looking to see if someone wanted to port his skin.Just wonder how many skinners are going to look everyday!

That's was my point... I could work if a person was able to subscribe to the thread...That way when ever someone started a new topic asking for permission, they could get an email with the new topic's name....then they would know from their email if it was one of their skins or not, and so they wouldn't have to waste their time checking this thread everyday.

excellent idea Brad, the way you and Danilloc showed it was funny in a way, it almost looked like as if you two were actors the point was still made though

I expect the option to hide or show your email will be implimented eventually within the new site...
