Most of US wants Rumsfeld out!

Like I have made clear in ealier posts I want Rumsfeld out, too. A few weeks ago McCain said he doesn't trust him. Now most of the US agrees with me. In a recent Gallup/USA the results came out.

The CNN/USA Today/Gallup poll shows 52 percent of Americans surveyed want Rumsfeld to resign, while only 36 percent say the embattled defense secretary should remain at the post he has held since 2001.
His approval rating has dropped from 71 percent in April 2003, when Iraqi president Saddam Hussein was toppled, to 41 percent in the new poll.

While our opinion does matter, thankfully not enough to make GW throw Rumsfeld out.

Boot him! I dislike Rummy even more than I dislike Bush and Cheney combined!

The only thing we need to boot are these stupid ass opinion polls that matter not at all. Like we could do a better job than Rummey - PAALEEEZE!

Actually the last boot him came from someone who is not even an american.

That does not make his opinion any less valid. Latour is Canadian, and his opinion matters very much to me and lots of others. Latour, I do respect you. You have a brain, and unlike others here (who shall remain nameless), you are articulate and intelligent.

drmiler, I know you are a jingoist extraordinaire, but we do live in a global society now. The internet is but one examble of that. And, because America is a "superpower", our actions are felt globally. Therefore, it's time to recognize that other nations are allowed to have some say in what others do. I'm not saying that Canadians, or French, or British, etc. should dictate our actions, but rather we should be listening to the world's concerns, and hopefully form our policies that would consider others' issues and how our actions may, or may not affect those other nations.

Blind patriotism just doesn't cut it anymore, in this global society. Time to wake up and get with the program, mon.

Why thankfully? He has done nothing good and everything bad during his time as Sec. of Defense. Hay, why don't why elect the cabinet members anyway?
